April 24-25, 2015 at the Solon Dixon Forestry Education Center

As part of a land management strategy, agroforestry practices can generate periodic revenue beyond that of traditional forest management, while keeping the land forested.  One of the most popular agroforestry techniques is silvopasture, the production of forage or grazing of livestock beneath trees.
This workshop will provide information that can help Natural Resource Technical Service Providers and land managers effectively guide landowners through the silvopasture adoption process, overcome hurdles, and avoid pitfalls.  Information regarding website resources, agroforestry systems, benefits to the environment, and opportunities for landowners and communities to engage in alternative land uses will be presented.  CFEs available.
