quickbooks1.jpgThe new Farm and Agribusiness Management team wants to help farmers improve their farm operations by helping them develop accurate financial records for more informed decision making.

QuickBooks for Farmers is a two evening short class on using QuickBooks Pro software for managing the farm checkbook. This class is intended to show farmers and their spouses how easy it can be to set up and maintain an accurate and very useful set of farm financial records by learning how to computerize the farm checkbook.

Some students taking the class already are using QuickBooks and want to learn more. Other students have never used QuickBooks software and want to get started. The class offer in-class instruction and then individual farm follow-up by the instructor:

  • Attend the Tuesday and Thursday night classes in a small group.
    • Learn to set up a farm file and start entering sample farm checks and deposits. Study a completed Case Study farm to see a full year of farm checks and deposit entries.

  • One-on-one Farm Visit
    • After the class is complete, the instructor (Robert Page in this instance) will schedule a farm visit to work with the farmer on individual farm bookkeeping questions.
