Regional Extension agents Margaret Odom, Leigh Akins and Sallie Lide Hooker are offering Regional Day Care Provider Training for counties in their respective regions on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Grove Hill City Hall, 111 S. Church Street, Grove Hill, Ala.
Sessions will be conducted by various Auburn Regional Extension agents as well as Dr. Ellen Abell, specialist, Auburn University; Laura Booth, specialist, Auburn University; Gerrie McMillan, Alabama Department Public Health; and Savanghia Johnson, Family Guidance Center.
The training is offered to day care centers, day carehHomes, relative care providers and foster parents in Washington, Wilcox, Clarke, Monroe, Conecuh, Escambia, Choctaw, Marengo, Autauga, Bibb, Butler, Chilton, Dallas, Lowndes and Perry counties. Nine training hours for license renewal with at least one training hour from each DHR category will be offered as well as educational books, hands-on activities for the children, and various supplies for your daycare. Breakfast, snacks and lunch will be provided.
Topics include: Effective Child Guidance, Safety in the School, Childhood Asthma, First Aid in the Day Cate Center, Activities for Children's Development, Cooking with Kids, Easy Nutritious Snacks for Children and more.
Cost is $35.00 for the full day or $30.00/person for a group of ten persons registering together. Contact your county Extension office for a registration form. Make checks payable to the Alabama Cooperative Extension System
